Module “Geographical Professional Practice” in Winter Semester 2025/26 #

To participate in Module 10/B11 in Winter Semester 2025/26, registration via AGNES is required. The course materials are provided on Moodle, and access credentials will be sent after AGNES registration. Even if you do not initially plan to complete a MAP, but wish to participate in the lecture series “Career Perspectives for Geographers” and/or the Practice Workshop (Poster Session) without presenting a poster, AGNES registration is still required. Without timely registration, participation in the module is unfortunately not possible.

The one-time information session for Module 10/B11 “Geographical Professional Practice” is mandatory and will take place on October 16, 2025, at 5:15 p.m. in the Small Lecture Hall (0.110) at ESZ (RUD26). Questions about all module components can be addressed during this session. Students who have already attended an information session in a previous semester and do not wish to attend again should register via email to the Contact Point by October 14.

Colloquium “Geography Practice Workshop” #

The poster presentation of the internship serves as the module final for Module 10 (StPO 2014) or Module B11 (StPO 2018) “Geographical Professional Practice”.

Active participation with your own poster presentation (MAP) can take place in person at the following four dates at 5:15 p.m. in the foyer of the Institute of Geography (RUD16):

  • Postersession I – Nov 13, 2025
  • Postersession II – Dec 11, 2025
  • Postersession III – Jan 15, 2026
  • Postersession IV – Feb 12, 2026

Registration for the poster sessions occurs after the information session (see above) via Moodle.

Passive participation as an audience member in three poster presentations counts as participation in the practice workshop. No additional registration is required.

Completion Sheet #

In Winter Semester 2025/26, confirmation of partial achievements continues to be documented via the completion sheet. Information on credit recognition is provided during the information session, in the Moodle course, or via email from the Contact Point.

Bachelor students must list and confirm their partial achievements for the practice modules on the corresponding completion sheets. Once all partial achievements are completed, the Completion Sheet along with your internship certificate and the completed Internship Profile, should be submitted to the course coordinators. Submission can occur during office hours or after the poster sessions.
