Geographical Colloquium – Information and Registration #
General Information #
The Geographical Colloquium provides a platform for lectures open to the university public, in which external guests, visiting scholars and members of the Institute of Geography report on their current research projects. The event is aimed at all students and teaching staff as well as guests and friends of geography. For Bachelor’s students, the colloquium is part of the foundation studies in module B7 “Mensch-Umwelt-Systeme” (Human–Environment Systems, Mono Bachelor) or F6 “Mensch-Umwelt-Systeme und Geoinformationsverarbeitung” (Human–Environment Systems and Geoinformation Processing, Combined Bachelor).
Please make sure to register via AGNES (course number 3312018CO).
Organization and Examination Relevance #
As part of modules B7 and F6, specific coursework must be completed in the form of homework assignments organized as a portfolio. The requirements are as follows:
- Mono Bachelor (B7): 10 submissions
- Combined Bachelor (F6): 5 submissions
The portfolio spans several semesters, so individual components from different semesters can be combined individually. For each colloquium lecture, a test is activated in Moodle, which must be submitted within exactly one week from the date of the lecture. These submissions are the prerequisite for awarding the associated bonus points in the respective modules.

Dates, Venue and Format #
The lectures are held regularly in the Erwin Schrödinger Centre (ESZ), Room 0'307. They always start at 3:00 p.m. c.t. For lectures held via Zoom, the participation link will be provided in good time.
